July 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA – Reef Check announced a new collaboration with renowned artist Lee Pantas to promote and support marine conservation through the Artists for Reefs Gallery. Making use of his academic background in biology and ecology, Mr. Pantas captures the ecological essence of coral reefs; the result is a canvas coming to life as a unique fusion of realism and fantasy. His work is found in hundreds of private and corporate collections, including Greenpeace and the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston TX.

“My focus as an artist is to use my art to help protect endangered oceanic habitats, especially coral reefs, from further destruction, and to raise awareness of the environmental issues facing us all. I am excited to be part of Reef Check’s great enterprise!” says Mr. Pantas. He joins Barbara and Larry Domsky, Carlos Hiller, Wyland and other talented artists in helping fund Reef Check’s work worldwide by donating part of the proceeds from art sold through the Artists for Reefs Gallery. Paintings from Mr. Pantas latest project, Liza’s Reef, are now available for viewing and purchase at the Gallery.
