For the second year in a row, Missouri Lawyers Weekly has named Brown & James, P.C. the winningest defense firm in Missouri. With more than triple the defense verdicts than the next leading firm, Brown & James received 13 defense verdicts in 2009, ranging from $10,000 to $1.4 million.
The 13 defense verdicts exceeded the firm's 2008 Missouri Lawyers Weekly record. The top defense verdicts do not include all of the defense verdicts achieved by Brown & James in 2009 or those verdicts that were returned for the plaintiff, but which were below the plaintiff's demand and what had been offered in settlement before trial.
