Crown Relocations, China, Appoints New Executive

James E. Thompson, III Promoted to Deputy Managing Director, Mainland China

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul 09, 2010 -
Crown Relocations, a worldwide leader of global mobility, domestic and international transportation of household goods, and departure and destination services has appointed James E. Thompson III, deputy managing director, mainland China.

Thompson, a fluent speaker of Mandarin Chinese, joined Crown in 1999 after completing Crown University's 1999 program in Zandvoort, Holland. Prior to that, he majored in Asian studies and history at the University of California, Santa Barbara in the United States and later had a successful two-year term as business development manager for a logistics company in China.

For the past nine years, he has managed Crown's expansion into Beijing and developed the business to include the Beijing Ultracentre, its wine cellars and its logistics division. For much of that time he worked as regional general manager of Crown's North China operation which includes Crown's venture in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The new role for Thompson will have him working closely with, and reporting directly to, Billy Wong, managing director, Greater China, in implementing strategic management, human resources, and financial policies and goals in all business units in China. One of the important roles for Thompson is creating a road map for Crown's network growth and expansion in China within a specific time period.

"I've worked with many respected colleagues across China for almost a decade, so I look forward to assisting with expanding the business in China and creating a vision for the organization and its future development in China," Thompson said. He added, "Having worked closely with Billy for more than 10 years, it is an honor to be able to work more closely with him to grow and develop a very strategically important operation for Crown."

Thompson is based in Beijing and in addition to his new role, retains control of Crown's logistics, wine cellars and facility management divisions in that region. The Mongolian operation and expansion into that region will remain a part of his responsibilities.

Wong said, "Jimmy and I have an in-depth personal and business understanding with each other, and coupled with the mutual trust long established between us, our cooperation will no doubt be at the highest possible level."
