As many of you know, my mother, Eve Haim, has always placed others in front of herself. As a loving mother, grandmother and caregiver to teacher's children she has helped many people grow to become great people. From leading the landmarks preservation society in Sea Cliff to her countless other volunteer positions within the village, she has never said no and she has never asked for help.
She, and many like her, are in need. Only a few months ago she was diagnosed with MDS, a rare bone marrow disorder. Perfectly healthy and strong as ever we were soon to learn what we were up against. Frequent Dr. visits, shots, chemicals, transfusions and bone aspirations attempted to keep the disease in check and begin to reduce its progress. Unfortunately, initial drugs have not worked.
The GREAT news, is that through the generous giving through the national bone marrow registry we have found a match and she is now eligible for a transplant. However dangerous, this is the only cure for her condition which has now progressed to AML (Leukemia).
There is SO MUCH that can be done to help in the fight against this disease and stop its unregulated progression but we need your help. AWARENESS is key, and our first step is this event.
We will be sponsoring Chase Mattioli, one of the brightest and most professional up and coming athletes today. Your donation will go to help pay for the decals and marketing needed to get the word out so we can turn this $5,000 investment into much more. Our hope is that donations at the track and based on the publicity could top $25,000 at one race alone. Across the season this could mean that we could bring in at least $750,000 in donations as long as we can prove the concept this month.
Please help, whether its $10, $100, $250, $500 or $1000 your donation matters.
