Ukraine - a promising platform for luxury brands expansion

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 9, 2010 - The luxury industry in Ukraine has developed rapidly over the last 10 years with the market growth estimated at 150-200% annually. Some of international luxury brands (Tiffany&Co, Intercontinental, Chanel, Boucheron etc.) entered the Ukrainian market during this period. The economic downturn at the end of 2008 severely hit the luxury industry, an average level of decrease reached 30-40%, whereas in some market segments up to 60%.
Nevertheless, today luxury operators are unanimous that the market is reviving. Therefore the question of integration of the Ukrainian luxury industry into the global luxury market has gained currency.
In 2009 LUXOR management company initiated Luxury Lifestyle Awards - an annual professional Award in Ukraine presented for the greatest achievements in luxury business. It is intended to stimulate the development of an open and transparent market of luxury goods and services.
On July 3, 2010 LUXOR management invited Denis Morisset, an executive director of ESSEC MBA in International luxury brand management at ESSEC Business School, to meet local business owners, top management and investors of luxury companies in the capital of Ukraine. During the workshop devoted to brand management in the luxury market parties discussed trends of luxury market development, effective business models in terms of brand promotion and other burning topics.
