July 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Huntsville, AL  -- Best-selling author Stephanie Osborn will be appearing at LibertyCon in Chattanooga, TN to discuss science, science fiction, writing and publishing. She will be available for autographs of her books. Her current books include Burnout: The mystery of Space Shuttle STS-281, soon to be a major motion picture; and EPIC Award finalist, The Y Factor, written with Darrell Bain, and part 2 of the Cresperia Saga. Part 3 of the saga, The Cresperian Alliance, was recently released in ebook format, and will be released in print August 2010.

Burnout is a fast-paced cliffhanger of a novel in the best tradition of Martin Caidin or Michael Crichton, about a fictional Space Shuttle disaster which turns out to be no accident.

As the principal investigators - "Crash" Murphy, former flight director and re-entry expert, and Dr. Michael C. Anders, astronomer - dig deeper, they discover the signs of something unusual - and as they do, friends, lovers, and colleagues involved in the investigation begin to die in mysterious “accidents.” They find themselves on the run, searching for answers, wondering who they can - and can’t - trust, in a game of cat and mouse that spans more than one continent, and may span more than one planet.

The Cresperian Saga concerns the first contact between the pacifistic natives of Cresperia, whose planetary government is a loose political anarchy, and the inhabitants of Earth. The Cresperians have a unique ability  to tap into the quantum foam, not only to read general impressions of events, situations, and emotions,  but to manipulate certain aspects of their reality - up to and including their own forms and the forms of humans for whom they care. This ability to manipulate the humans includes healing and delaying aging, both highly desired abilities, making them valuable "commodities." Upon crash-landing on Earth in the first novel, several of the "Crispies" take human form and must contend with the strange customs and political environments of Earth.

Osborn's mentor, Travis "Doc" Taylor, and Bain co-authored the Dream Realm Award-winning first  novel of the Cresperia series, Human By Choice, published by Twilight Times Books.

The Y Factor picks up where Human By Choice leaves off, with the international race to obtain Crispies and Crispy technology. But there's a catch. Crispies are delicately balanced creatures, and not all of the nations after them - good OR bad - understand just HOW delicate. Can they even survive, let alone thrive, on Earth? And what if more Crispies come? What happens then? And who - or what - else is out there?
