Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York--Suicide, homelessness, hunger are on the rise in our Veteran community. The first to be hit and devastated during harsh economic times are often those that were the first to serve and now are the last to be served…The American Veteran!

America is overly generous when it comes to the causes of saving people from around the world while our veterans die daily from lack, lack of the same care and compassion showered upon, yes people trying to kill Americans!

We know that times are difficult for most and the summer usually brings a slow down in giving.  We are asking you, this summer to ‘dare~2~care’ with a $5 dollar Tax-Deductible donation, equal to half the price of a pack of cigarettes in New York State!

It is vital that donations are received now in advance of the need that is estimated to be most critical this year due to economic conditions.  Delays in donations mean the difference between life and death for our veterans.  

Where your donation(s) go:

Our mission is a broad one and includes:
•   Supplying Retro-Fits and devices for existing homes to assist disabled veterans
•   so that he or she can continue to dwell in his or her home and in some cases providing temporary and/or permanent quality affordable housing for veterans;
•   Providing funding and advocacy to support families of deceased veterans,
•   including but not limited to, paying utilities, temporary mortgage assistance,
•   Where government funds and/or facilities are limited or unavailable, the AVAF will assist veterans and their families.
