ALPHARETTA, GA - - Kim Storey, certified nurse midwife and water birth expert, has been a women’s health practitioner for over 20 years. She is now accepting patients to the ISIS OB/GYN Alpharetta location.
An Atlanta native, Storey specializes in water birthing babies. Women say this popular method of labor and delivery has helped to ease the pain of a drug-free labor and welcomes the baby into a familiar environment;
“I always knew I wanted to be a nurse midwife and deliver babies,” Storey says. “I’ve kept up to date with advances in women’s health and that is how I came to start birthing babies in the water.”
In addition to water births, Storey will provide comprehensive physical examinations for gynecological, obstetrical, antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum clients.
“We are excited to have a person with her level of experience join our family,” says Dr. Hughan Frederick, Medical Director of ISIS OB/GYN. “We are sure both our current and new patients will appreciate her expertise as well.”
Storey received her registered nurses diploma degree from the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing, her BSN from Clayton State University and her MSN from CASE Western at the Frances Bolton School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio. Storey then graduated from the Frontier School of nurse midwifery as a certified nurse midwife. She is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives and Sigma Theta Tau, a nursing honor society.
As an advocate against domestic violence Storey supports The National Coalition against Domestic Violence along with other social and family causes like the Atlanta Area Down Syndrome Association.
