Ridgeland, Miss. - Patty Peck Honda has helped to support the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi for the past 23 years by donating a new Honda Civic to be raffled off. This year the total number of tickets sold for the raffle was 1635, which helped to raise around $36,000. Every dollar raised is money that will stay in Mississippi to help serve all Mississippians with diabetes.
The 2010 Car for a Cure drawing was held on April 15 at the Ultimate Fashion Show, which took place at the Country Club of Jackson. We decided to have the drawing at the fashion show since it worked so well in 2009.
To help spread awareness about the event direct mail pieces were sent out, and we partnered with Clear Channel Radio and WLBT- TV. TV ads presented by Maggie Wade, Wendy Suares, and Julia Straw as well as radio PSA’s and morning show interviews helped to provide that additional advertising push. Posters were distributed throughout the 3-county area and constant contact emails were sent out several times during the campaign. Feature stories were also sent to area papers as well statewide.
