When twin sisters Scout and Anny and their neighbor travel to the Navajo Nation to help their friend organize a science fair at his school, upon their arrival they’re shocked to discover that the school has burned down. Further adding to the mystery: shortly after the fire, Anny (who has psychic powers) sees a vision of an ancient warrior, and the friends soon learn of the mysterious arrival of two visiting archaeologists who begin to search the land. Given the peculiarity of the circumstances, Anny strives to get to the bottom of the mystery, but she knows she has her work cut out for her if she hopes to convince the others not only of the legitimacy of her vision, but also of the looming, hidden danger they all face...

Surprisingly enthralling, The Lost Treasure Of The Golden Sun is a highly enjoyable read. In it, author Carol Amato presents readers with an extended introduction to Native American culture and tradition while simultaneously leading them on a compelling adventure rife with mystery, drama, and ever-unfolding suspense. Though ostensibly geared towards younger readers, Amato’s engaging tale truly has something for everyone – and carries a particular appeal for the young at heart not too old to remember the Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, and other standout juvenile mysteries from not so long ago.

Equally enlightening and entertaining, The Lost Treasure Of The Golden Sun takes the reader on an edifying journey through our nation’s storied cultural roots. Highly recommended.
