Follow on Google News | All Voters of Florida House District 86 Have a Choice in August PrimaryCandidate Carole Kaye invites all registered voters in Florida House District 86 to vote in the August 24th primary which will serve as the general election due to candidates of other party affiliations not qualifying for the race.
By: Carole Kaye for State Representative 2010 In citing her motives for running the candidate said, "The voters of this district deserve a choice and I feel once they get to know me and my policy solutions to serious public problems, I will earn their vote." In referencing the voters, Kaye cited the little known, and unadvertised, fact that when the only contested election in a district is one party's primary, as is the case in 86, all registered voters within that district may vote in that primary. August 24th will be the only day residents of District 86 will be able to cast a vote for their State Representative. Kaye noted that she is pressing on in the face of undemocratic obstacles to her candidacy, "Despite the opinion of behind the scenes power-brokers, issues of social justice are core values of the district I wish to serve. As part of the democratic process, I anticipated effective and open public discourse in my primary. Instead I have an opponent who is not a resident of District 86 refusing to debate me, local clubs that will not permit me to speak, and threats of harm to me for remaining in the race." Florida State House District 86 includes parts of Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and Boynton Beach. # # # For more information about Carole Kaye's campaign to represent District 86 in the Florida State House, please visit http://www.carolekaye2010.com.
