July 7, 2010 - PRLog -- A Massachusetts' boy has become a YouTube hit for his rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’,” performed recently at his middle school.

It was Dalton Joseph Letorney's time to shine in front of 800 people at his fifth grade school concert on June 8, 2010, singing to the classic hit with 300 classmates singing backup chorus. After his performance, Dalton received a standing ovation. Check out his Youtube video,

“I'm just looking, beaming around at the audience and they're like, ‘Wow. Yeah! Go Dalton!” said Dalton.

Dalton sounds like he's been playing and singing for most if not all of his 11 years, but he only started playing the piano four years ago, and just started singing four months ago.

“People were coming up aftwards, and they were saying they got the goose bumps, and some even cried,” said Joe Letorney, Dalton’s father.

Before this YouTube hit performance, Dalton was so shy, he wouldn’t even sing in front of his parents.

“If I said to him, ‘Sing’ or caught him singing he'd run away from me. So, there was always an uncomfortableness around singing,” said Mireille Letorney, Dalton’s mother.

At the urging of his mom, Dalton found his voice, his confidence, and the spotlight.

“He’s struggled a lot, and it’s like his moment to shine,” said Mireille Letorney.

“I was nervous when I got up there, but when I hit the first note I calmed right down and got into it, " said Dalton.

Dalton was also featured on WHDH channel 7 news in Boston, as well as in various newspapers in Boston.

Dalton also donates his time to playing the piano and performing at a nursing home for about 30 residents every other week. He enjoys doing this as a way of giving back to his community.

Dalton's dream is to one day be discovered. " I'd love to be on Ellen's show," said Dalton.

Dalton's family said they will support whatever he decides to do, whether he wants to go on to be a star, or follow his dream of going to Harvard University to pursue math and science.
