In a multicultural city like Toronto — where all summer festivals have something beautiful to offer those who love meeting new cultures — you cannot miss Canada’s Largest Brazilian Cultural Event, the 7th Annual Toronto International BrazilFest 2010.
On Sunday July 25th, 2010 at Earlscourt Park located at St. Clair Ave West and Caledonia Road, all sounds and vibes of this beautiful culture will be showcased with its food, music, dance, crafts and workshops.
The Festival stage will be filled with musicians, dancers and singers that will take you on an exotic trip exploring Brazilian music and celebration without having to leave the heart of Toronto.
Starting at noon, BrazilFest Toronto will have amazing artists like Marcelo Neves, Banda Tropicalia, Samba Elegua, Carla Dias, Brazil Dance World, Camila Derise, Renata Rodrigues, Brazilian Zouk Dancers and an Afro Brazilian percussion and rhythmic dance group ensemble, Banda Bracatum.
The day will also be spiced up in between bands and group breaks through rhythms like Funk and Reggae mixed with an upbeat contemporary Brazilian flavour all brought to you by Vilton Miranda, a.k.a DJ V.
This amazing event will also offer the famous Brazilian “Caipirinha,”
Everyone is welcome and there will be something for all ages and genders; you can join Guiomar Campbell and her Bio Sync Ryhthms and Kids performance where elements of Yoga and Brazilian percussion and dance are used in harmony; or stay until ten o’clock at night dancing and relaxing the night away under the stars enjoying the beauty and space of Earlscourt Park at St. Clair Ave W. and Caledonia Rd.
Each year the festival has grown in size and prestige. Many Brazilians today call Canada home, many of whom are living in the Greater Toronto Area. For them, as for many visitors participating and joining in on a yearly basis, the event has become a real and authentic expression and the pride and joy of the Toronto Brazilian Community, celebrating its music, happiness and the unique touch of Brazilian friendship for all.
