Lauren Biada of West Bountiful, Utah was crowned Miss Teen Utah-World 2010 on May 9th. She just competed in the Miss Teen United States-World Pageant, the only Teen pageant in the U.S. to send the national winner to a world pageant, Miss Teen World. Lauren competed with the most beautiful teens from all over the United States June 21-25 in Houston, Texas and did an amazing job!
Lauren is 18 years old. Her hobbies include fashion, foreign languages, leadership, dancing, music, photography, literature, cheerleading and technology. Her favorite book is 'The Secret Life of Bees', favorite movie is 'Confessions of a Shopaholic', and her favorite TV show is 'NCIS'.
She says her favorite quote is: "How many cares one loses when one decides not to be something but to be someone." –Coco Chanel. Lauren says the cause that is most important to her is community Involvement. She says, "We are blessed to live in the USA. Its unique form of government only works when we are all involved. To quote my father, you have to “Inspect what you expect.”
Lauren lives what she believes in. Her community involvement includes; A member of the West Bountiful Youth City Council (WBYCC) for nearly three years. She is currently serving as Youth Mayor. WBYCC focuses on providing safe activities, service projects, and unique learning experiences for her community. She says, "We also learn about the different parts of local government and how we can serve our neighbors. After two years of participation, I am the Head Judge of the West Bountiful Youth Court. Our system offers youth who commit local crimes an opportunity to learn the realities of the law without attending Juvenile Court. "
Lauren has also been a member of the Bountiful Interact Club sponsored by the Rotary Club for two years, and she has been the president of her church group in West Bountiful.
Before winning the title of Miss Teen Utah-World 2010 Lauren told us that she was excited to participate in the Miss Teen Utah-World pageant for many reasons! She stated, "I hope to make life-long memories and learn about poise and presentation. I’m looking forward to meeting new friends and competing with them as well! I am also devoted to my platform and hope to raise awareness of community involvement. I can hardly wait to get preparing for this pageant!"
