Ionx Demonstrates Support for Security Research

These projects will utilise Verisys by deploying it in a ‘Honeynet’, allowing them to monitor changes to the file systems and registries of compromised machines.

About the Honeynet Project
A Honeynet is a network of computers that simulates a production environment, and is designed to covertly monitor the activities of parties interacting with the network. The Honeynet Project is an international, non-profit organisation focused on researching the methods and motives behind malicious activities on the Internet. By gathering information and statistics, new security threats can be discovered before they become more prominent in the wild, and action can be taken to prevent the compromise of production systems using the data captured by Honeynets. The Canadian Honeynet Project and the Spanish Honeynet Project are both members of the international Honeynet Project, and aim to raise awareness of Internet threats and vulnerabilities through security research.
