-- RALEIGH, NC, JULY 2, 2010: Raleigh wedding photographer J. Kim was honored with two first prizes in the Wedding Photographic Society’s first quarter WPS Image Competition.
The competition attracted almost one hundred entries in five categories. J. Kim’s photographs took first place in both the “Photojournalism”
and the “Tears and Joy” categories.
J. Kim’s entry for the “Photojournalism”
category, featuring the bride and groom in a bicycle rickshaw, was described by the judges as “… a really fun photo. It expresses a lot about the couple…, and about marriage- a trip into the future.” The “Tears and Joy” entry-an emotional altar moment caught at an unusual angle- inspired the judges to write “Wow, what a moment! Love, love, love this image. Everyone is crying and wrapped-up in the moment with the bride. Access to a different angle also made this image work as well. I bet the bride will never forget this moment thanks to this photographer.”
J. Kim described himself as “…so happy to see my images were well recognized by my fellow wedding photographers and wedding industry professionals.”
He says he “feels humble to have been awarded two first place among all the excellent photographers in WPS.”
