Trends in Children's Fashion for Fall 2010

The overall trend in color this fall in children's fashion is for richly saturated hues, with lots of plaids and patterns.  Girls will be drawn to the fun mix of bright prints from Desigual, a knitwear designer from Spain that does funky cool separates.  Wati's designs for fall are similarly rich in tone, but with a more refined feminine look in crisp solids.  Boys will find lots of deep blues, reds and greens in Appaman's Brooklyn-cool fall line.

The time lag between adult and children's fashion continues to narrow this fall, with several trends that are hot on the heels of their grown-up counterparts.  Jeggings take a girl's two favorite pieces (jeans and leggings) and combine them into one go-to garment she'll reach for day after day.  Look for dark wash jeggings from It Jeans in July.

Motorcycles, robots, and snowboards dominate the graphic prints you will see on boys this fall.  Wes and Willy will pair these modern looks on classic preppy pieces to keep the guys up to date.  Girl's prints are turning Japanese, with kawai cute animals and other characters from Tokkidokki and Lil' Panda.
