July 1, 2010 - PRLog -- This designation awarded to Vicky Nash Shaw is the highest level of credentials that a personal property appraiser can achieve with ISA.  A non-profit institution, the International Society of Appraisers trains, tests and credentials individuals appraising antiques, fine art, residential contents and other personal property.  ISA is one of only two organizations that provides on-going testing and credentialing for antique and art appraisers; appraisers are required to maintain their knowledge through continuing education, are required to meet ethical standards,  and are required to maintain their skills by completing a required amount of appraisal hours every five years.  Through the endeavors of ISA, consumers can be assured that ISA certified appraisers (ISA CAPP) are of the highest caliber and that they possess the skills to offer professional appraisal standards.

A graduate of the University of Kentucky (BS) and Marshall University (MBA), Vicky has been a generalist appraiser since 2003.  After earning her ISA accreditation in 2004, she started her firm Authentic Appraisal and Estate Services and subsequently incorporated into an LLC in 2008.  Vicky was also a recipient of ISA’s Distinguished Service award for 2008-2009.

Since her accreditation, Vicky has worked to gain specialization experience in the fields of American, French, Chinese and English furniture, silver, paintings and prints.  She also specializes in Chinese, Japanese, Moroccan and Anatolian ceramics, American ceramics and glassware, and other decorative arts as well as general Orientalia.  Working with her husband Wayne, also of the same firm, she also appraises classic and collector cars.

Vicky is now one of less than 125 appraisers with this ISA designation currently working in the United States and Canada.   As a generalist appraiser, Vicky works primarily in North Carolina and Virginia, but with her specialization expertise, she has worked nationally for clients located in New Jersey, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee and Nevada.   Clients include private individuals, attorneys and accountants, insurance companies and non-profit organizations.  She offers a variety of appraisal types, including insurance, estate, charitable contribution and damage claim appraisals.  In addition, she regularly works roadshow style appraisal fairs across the southeastern United States, and offers private consultations for verbal approximations of value.

Located in the Raleigh Durham area of North Carolina, Vicky can be reached at 919 475-6930 or at vickynash.shaw@gmail.com.  Her website is http://TheAuthenticAppraisal.com.
