Laguna Beach’s HIP District Celebrates Independence Day!

The HIP District’s many art galleries, boutiques, restaurants, bars, hotels and shops draw locals and tourists alike, especially on the holiday weekends.

June 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Spanning seven blocks of Pacific Coast Highway between Anita Street and Blue Bird Canyon, Laguna Beach’s HIP District has it all, from bars and restaurants to accommodation and a variety of retail shops.
And, as we kick off Laguna Beach’s official summer season this weekend, the HIP District is poised to celebrate it, along with our nation’s patriotic holiday. The area’s merchants are planning special offers and events that last through to the 5th of July.
The HIP District’s 4th of July weekend festivities will start on July 1st with a Laguna Beach institution—ArtWalk. Make sure to visit the HIP District art galleries, lining PCH from Brooks Street through to Blue Bird Canyon, and view superb examples of paintings, sculptures and glass while sampling free wine and hors d’oeuvres.  Also on July 1st, European Optical is holding a party from 6-9PM. Food and wine will be served at this trunk show, to be enjoyed while trying on some of the latest fashions from fabulous eyewear lines such as SALT, Reptile and Cazal.
The HIP District’s retail shops and boutiques are also celebrating with discounts for shoppers, like Blue Eyed Girl at the Old Pottery Place. From the 2nd to the 5th, their designer brands will be 80% off, including lines like Free People, Joie, Joe’s Jeans, James Perse, Billy Blues, Akiko and many more—while supplies last.
For our young graduates out there, bring in your report card to Laguna Beach Books and receive $2 in credit for each “A” you’ve earned! This special lasts until July 15th for graduates from K-12.
More giveaways this weekend at Laguna Nursery, where customers will receive a free 4” petunia with every purchase, plus they are holding a free lecture on home landscape design at 3PM on Saturday the 3rd. Bring home a unique memento of your Laguna Beach vacation; buy one of many authentic lithographic prints at Vintage Poster and earn 20% off custom picture framing.
For those looking for a tasty Independence Day Weekend, there’s plenty to choose from. Get your 4th of July started with a boost at Laguna Coffee Company. Just walk in, say “America rocks!” and receive a free, regular-size cup of their Laguna “Made in the USA” coffee. That's it—no catch, and no purchase required.  Fresh roasted on the premises by owner Paul Ackley in small batches, the Laguna Coffee Company’s artisanally created coffee is the tastiest coffee around.
A stop at The Chocolate Soldier is a must for anyone with a sweet tooth—truffles, marshmallows, almond toffee, gelato and salted caramels that will bring you to your knees. In mid-July they will be unveiling an exotic new line of handmade, single-origin chocolates, an event not to be missed.
A trip to Laguna Beach this weekend will not be complete without a tour through the HIP District, where both locals and tourists find the best shopping, dining, art and accommodations in town.
