Business Continuity Planning For Aviation Sector

BCM Institute invited to share with aviation sector good practices in implementing a Pandemic Flu BC plan.

PRLog - Jun. 30, 2010 - Kuala Lumpur, 26 May 2010 – BCM Institute, the largest business continuity management (BCM) practice in the Asia Pacific region, was requested to speak at the Business Continuity Planning Seminar for Pandemic Preparedness in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 26 May 2010. Accepting the invitation, BCM Institute's President, Dr Goh Moh Heng shared with c-level participants from the aviation industry, the finer points of Business Continuity Planning. In his presentation, Dr Goh elaborated on a proven approach to implement a Pandemic Flu BC plan in various areas of the aviation sector.

Identifying 12 key operational areas in the aviation sector such as catering and fuel storage facilities, Dr Goh further drew participants towards the implementation stage and the achievement of business continuity objectives by phases. Complete with checklists and vivid scenarios, Dr Goh also provided good lessons on Business Continuity and Emergency Management to emulate.

Participants unfamiliar with BCM terminology further benefitted from BCMPedia www.bcmpedia.org, a webpage created by BCM Institute that features a formidable glossary of various Business Continuity-Disaster Recovery (BC-DR) terms including Pandemic Flu and the standard SS540:2008.
