Spec Howard Alum Goes to Haiti as part of The Rebuild Haiti Project

June 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Larry Crockett heard the call to go to Haiti with the Global Projects for Hope, Help and Healing Team in June and resounded with a vibrant yes! As part of the Global Projects Team he not only was able to record all sessions of the train the trainer series for the 10 DVD project, he was able to speak to the men in attendance and remind them of their responsibility to take a stand and rebuild their country and families.

He delivered a powerful message challenging each man to look to the one who can give them renewed strength to be the father, husband, neighbor and friend to a community struggling to overcome the horrific events of January 12th. He inspired all men to not sit on the sidelines but to enter into the game and become a team player to bring the nation of Haiti back. He urged men to fall on their knees in prayer then stand on their feet to march to victory for their loved ones.

Larry's first international mission trip offered to him the growth not only professionally but spiritually to take all the learning he has received as a member of Evangel Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Christopher Brooks to another level. He also was the pied piper to the young children who followed him around as he video them and shared words of hope.

Larry being a very resourceful person is also a musician with skill as a bassist. He found some time to sit down with some Haitian musician and hit a few strings. This was a delight not just to Larry but the men as well. While the team was in the mountains of Cerve and Mole St Nicolas he again did his job of capturing the excitement of each attendee who sat thourgh the training and received their certificates.

Global Projects is so grateful to Larry for his dedication to help record the monumental task of launching a DVD series that will help to restore the emotiongal, mental and spiritual health of the children and families in Haiti. The project is to offer sustainable resources so that the professionals, lay counselors and clergy can meet the needs of many who are still struggling with grief, stress, trauma in the aftermath of the January earthquake.

The presence of Larry helped the Team chronicle their interaction with children and adults, to capture the faces of Haiti, the anguish and frustration as well as the hope and joy of many.  With this under his belt, Larry has been changed and challenged to become an agent of change in the lives of hurting people.
He is looking forward to the next mission trip with Global Projects who is scheduling a trip in the latter part of this year. He stands ready with electronic equipment to again show the growth and renewed hope of a people under very devastating circumstances.

Larry as ad executive for Voice of the Kingdom newspaper will have a story to share when the next issue is released. Global Projects is grateful for such a focused and committed man on a mission to advance the work of the organization and the kingdom dream of healing for a nation.
