June 29, 2010 - PRLog -- The experts from Essex-based chartered accountants Rickard Keen LLP were on hand after this week’s Budget to inform local businesses about what the changes meant for them.

The firm hosted a Budget Breakfast at Sands Bistro, in Southend, attended by 50 clients and contacts, as well as local Conservative MP David Amess who took part in a question and answer session at the end.

Rickard Keen partners Noel Kelleway and Keith Bell were also on hand to answer guests’ queries, giving their insight into the effect the measures would have on businesses and individuals in the area.

And there was plenty to discuss, with increases in VAT and Capital Gains Tax partially balanced out by a reduction in Corporation Tax and a rise in the Income Tax threshold.

Keith Bell said: “We knew this Budget was likely to bring about a lot of changes, and certainly some increases in tax, so we wanted to be on hand to provide as much help and support to our clients as possible the day after the announcement.

“We were delighted that David Amess was able to join us to give his insights, and the event was very well received by everyone who took part.”
