Local Real Estate Appraisal Company Expands to Connecticut
Charlestown, RI – June 23, 2010 – Weeden Appraisal Company, located in downtown Charlestown, RI, has recently been approved for a Connecticut Appraisal License, enabling them to complete residential appraisals in the state of Connecticut. The process, which can take months, relies on an unblemished record of appraising properties in the state of Rhode Island.
Weeden Appraisal Company, formally based in the old schoolhouse on Matunuck School House Road in South Kingstown, moved their offices into the Windswept Center, located in the Charlestown business district in August of 2009.
The past 18 months have been busy for this locally-owned, coastal business. While the economy has created a bumpy ride for many homeowners and the real estate market in general, low interest rates and a generous tax credit have provided incentives for many homeowners to refinance their existing home or purchase new ones. A home appraisal is required by lenders in either case.
After taking some time to settle in to their new location, Weeden Appraisal Company began the process of expanding outside of the Rhode Island borders. “We’
”We were also getting feedback from lenders that they needed help in the area, and they were really excited to hear about our expansion.” Mr. Colston added “While we’re handling property appraisals in New London County only at this time, we will be expanding to other counties at a future date, including Middlesex, New Haven and Fairfield counties.”
An expert in the real estate appraisal profession, no one knows Southern Rhode Island better than Bob Colston. Born and raised in that part of the state affectionately known as "South County", Bob volunteers his time with many local organizations, including the South Kingstown Lions Club and South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the board of the Charlestown Chamber of Commerce.
