Girls Inc. of Southwestern CT kicked off their 9 week summer camp season of Let’s Go Girl and STARS summer Camp! Girls ages 6-10 will learn and explore the culture, arts, dance, history, fashion, and languages in 9 weeklong sessions exploring destinations around the world including: Hong Kong, Haiti, Saturn, Israel, Vancouver, Botswana, Venice, Chile and Hawaii. Girls will participate in a variety of exciting and enlightening activities that will broaden their knowledge of the differences in the daily lives of girls throughout the world and into outer space. Girls will also partake in exploratory field trips during selected weeks.
STARS is an electrifying summer camp for girls ages 11-15 who would like to explore the media and express their inner star. Participants will learn influences that media has on girls, deconstruct and reconstruct music videos, make new friends, and learn to be a leader while participating in an array of creative activities including: dance, singing, hip-hop, career exploration, drama, photography, field trips and much more.
Both camps provide the opportunity for a full-day from 8:30am to 4:30pm, or a half-day from 8:30am to 12:00pm or 1:00pm to 4:30pm. Girls Inc. of SWCT also offers extended care from 7:30am to 8:30am and 4:30pm to 5:30pm. Both camps are state licensed and facilitated by trained, enthusiastic and empowering employees.
