Law Firm Raises Record Amount at Charity Ball

June 28, 2010 - PRLog -- It brings the total raised by Latimer Hinks at its charity balls to £46,500

Clients, professional contacts, colleagues and friends of Latimer Hinks were invited to a Black Tie Ball at the prestigious Wynyard Hall.

A four course meal was followed by a charity auction with prizes including a luxury break, Pandora bracelet, spa day membership and several rounds of golf generously donated by a range of local businesses.

The event attracted over 270 guests and was a sell-out success. During the evening a tombola, silent auction and raffle took place. Entertainment was provided by two roaming magicians and the excellent party band, Huge.

‘Help For Heroes’ supports wounded servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. Its current focus is to create a series of Regional Recovery Houses, which will be built across the UK and serve as the last stage rehabilitation before a serviceman, or woman, returns to their unit or moves back into civilian life.

Latimer Hinks is also donating money to St Teresa’s Hospice in Darlington which provides high quality medical, nursing and social support to patients and offers respite and support for carers, as well several smaller local charities.

HSBC has made a significant contribution to the charity total by matching £1 for £1 raised up to £1,500.

Anne Elliott, Partner at Latimer Hinks said: “This is the sixth time Latimer Hinks has hosted the charity ball and we are delighted that in 2010 we have raised a record amount for two extremely worthwhile causes, as well as some smaller charities, that all carry out vital work in our communities.

“We have been overwhelmed by the big hearts and community spirit of companies and individuals, who have still made generous contributions in spite of the current recession.”
