OTC Sports Swings for the Fences with New Baseball and Softball Bat Specialty Store

June 27, 2010 - PRLog -- HILLSBORO, OR- With decades of experience in the baseball and softball industry, Jeff LeRiche, started OTC Sports in early 2009 as a family operated business specializing in high-end performance baseball and softball bats and equipment for the tournament caliber player. Initially starting out as an internet only retailer, OTC Sports is excited to announce they recently opened a retail location in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Recognizing a need in the Portland metro area for baseball and softball equipment not usually stocked in larger sporting goods chain stores, LeRiche, President of OTC Sports, felt that opening a retail location would greatly benefit area baseball and softball players. “Customers often tell us that they have difficulty finding high performance bats and equipment locally. We’re looking to fill that void for them,” says LeRiche. “We realize that purchasing high-end gear adds up to a substantial investment and a customer should expect and demand that the person selling it to them be an expert, and that is what you get at OTC Sports and what you fail to receive at big chain sporting good stores.”

There are future plans to hold “team night” events where local baseball and softball teams can schedule an appointment to have a private evening at the store. Team nights will offer a personalized experience to baseball and softball team coaches, players and parents where they will receive expert service, custom fitting of bats utilizing a radar speed meter system and also fitting of uniforms and equipment.  

LeRiche explained that, “At OTC Sports, we pride ourselves on selling performance and not hype. We do this by only offering the best products from each manufacturer that we deal with. We personally test everything we sell, we listen to ball players and we back it up with high level, knowledgeable service. We recognize that the tournament caliber player requires extra insight to get the equipment edge that helps them to excel.”

OTC Sports is a DeMarini Demo House, an exclusive program that allows both baseball and fastpitch players to” test drive” a DeMarini bat for a of couple days, helping them to decide which model to purchase.
