Experiences, brutality, knowledge and lethal steel: a spellbinding journey RPG.
Not content to carve one of the best RPGs of the past three years and also one of the great sleepers of 2007, the guys from CD Projekt RED are not afraid to show the changes and propose a formula heavily revamped for its new delivery.
On the occasion of E3 we approach the third time to The Witcher 2, for the first time since its leaders announced that Assassins of Kings will not come to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, "the moment." Many things have changed since the first half, and then you count them.
The Assassins of Kings combat has changed much about the first part. It is now much more agile, and will include some minor QuickTime Events, for example, when we caught up creatures.
Sword and Sorcery
The first thing we noticed when we play to The Witcher 2 is going to be that its combat system has been seriously modified. We can develop sophisticated combos, but this time much more natural. Unfortunately, no game shows have enabled us to control in order to explain the detail of those who tried it, but it has become clear that this is a procedure that has nothing to do with the first delivery. This was based on the rate at which we would click with the mouse, and has now been replaced in order to become a style of swordsmanship more conventional.
In the demo we saw only one battle in a forest, for which Geralt had defensive aid of his partner Triss with a magical barrier and the distance offensive Vernon, the last member of this bellicose trio. We were also shown a confrontation with a giant tentacled creature which, however, realized and our latest development.
On the other hand, the interfaces of the talks and the way they develop the dialogues are also very different on this occasion. Now the options and answering questions with short formulations appear on the left side of the screen, and we have a specific time to respond. With that its leaders seek to approach the dialogue much more agile and that requires a waiting player who does not attend, but actively participates in tension.
The scenes of a sexual nature will return to dwell on the game, but this time it looks playable with more weight and plot.
Thanks to this approach conveys the sensation is that some talks are brilliant exchange of blows between the two sides, with a very fluid style and tremendous agility between questions and answers.
On the other hand, and now with the inventory items and customization in mind, we have been deeply liked the character editing possibilities that are now much more detailed. The use of magic, sword skills and qualities of alchemy are deeper this time, and the recording has a much greater weight than its predecessor, with many more objects to load and use.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will go on sale in 2011 compatible. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will have to wait a while yet announced.
