San Francisco, CA - At an alarming rate, internet titanium ring companies in the USA are selling imported rings to consumers, and not identifying the country of origin. A close look at the online titanium ring industry should be a wake up call for consumers. Out of the first 20 websites, on a Google search for “titanium rings”, there were only six websites that clearly stated that they either make, or carry rings made in the United States. None of the other titanium ring websites clearly stated the country of origin. In other words, they did not say where the rings were made.
For those that want the integrity and quality of “Made in the United States” titanium rings, this is quite a disturbing trend. While we will not list the online companies that do not state the origin of manufacturing, to prevent confusion, here is a list of the companies that do carry rings “Made in the United States” only.

Complying with the Made In the USA Standard.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is charged with preventing deception and unfairness in the marketplace. The FTC Act gives the Commission the power to bring law enforcement actions against false or misleading claims that a product is of U.S. origin. Traditionally, the Commission has required that a product advertised as Made in USA be "all or virtually all" made in the U.S. After a comprehensive review of Made in USA and other U.S. origin claims in product advertising and labeling, the Commission announced in December 1997 that it would retain the "all or virtually all" standard. The Commission also issued an Enforcement Policy Statement on U.S. Origin Claims to provide guidance to marketers who want to make an unqualified Made in USA claim under the "all or virtually all" standard and those who want to make a qualified Made in USA claim.
Our research shows that companies listed above use solid 14k or 18k gold, solid platinum, and high quality diamonds. Titanium is a very strong metal; all of the titanium that these companies use is more than adequate for the strength of a titanium ring.
The integrity of the online titanium ring business unfortunately needs to be scrutinized. If consumers want quality USA titanium rings they will need to look for “Made in the USA” on the website, and it should be prominently displayed. If information on the origin of the ring is not easily found we suggest moving on to another titanium ring website.
