U.S. Soldier Stationed in Iraq Chooses Viva Wedding Chapel for His Wedding

On Saturday June 26, Danny McClure will be trading the sands of Iraq for the sands of Las Vegas to marry his sweetheart Jill Cleveland. Though stationed halfway around the world, his Army buddies in Iraq will be watching the action via a Live Webcam we’ve set up for the event!

After dating around a year, over half of that as a virtual relationship using the Internet chat device Skype, the lovebirds decided to make it official during Danny’s two week furlough. Wanting to make it extra special, they decided on the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel because of our great Internet webcam program. Oh, and we’re also letting them roll Danny’s beloved Harley inside the chapel to use during the ceremony!

“Instead of tearing us apart, Skype forced us to have a stronger relationship,” Danny says. “This wedding for me is the beginning of a new chapter in my life, the beginning of a beautiful future.”

Their big hearts aren’t just for each other, though. Jill, who is hearing impaired and an American Sign Language teacher in Dallas, wants to include in the ceremony the jersey of a beloved student who died recently. Danny took the special jersey to Iraq and had pictures taken during his tour there.
