June 23, 2010 - PRLog -- Winchendon, MA  – The Penguin Racing School is thrilled to announce its return to New Jersey Motorsports Park for the summers’ best motorcycle track event, Ducati Revs New Jersey.  The event will take place August 16 and 17, 2010 and is hosted by the Penguin Roadracing School in conjunction with participating Ducati dealers.  The event provides participants with hours of track time including ample opportunities to take advantage of one-on-one training as there will be over 40 top rated riding instructors on hand.  In addition to track time, participants will be able to take advantage of classroom instruction that includes courses covering body position, line selection and riding technique.  The 2-day event will also include exclusive access to past and present superbike stars as this year’s event will feature the reunion of the World Champion team of Doug Polen and Eraldo Ferracci as well as a guest appearance by Foremost Pegram Ducati rider, Larry Pegram.

“The Ducati events are always exciting to host because they afford us the opportunity to provide unique enhancements to the school.  This year having Doug Polen and Eraldo Ferracci join us is very special as they are such an important part of the Ducati racing legacy,” said Eric Wood, President of Penguin Roadracing School.  “I am also ecstatic that current AMA Superbike pilot, Larry Pegram, of Foremost Pegram Ducati, will be on-hand for both days to take part in our lunch time interviews and on-track activities.”

The historic reunion of one of the world’s best Superbike Racing tandems, Doug Polen and Eraldo Ferracci, will take place on Monday as they will be working with a lucky group of riders on and off the track. The Ferracci team with rider Doug Polen completely dominated the Superbike racing scene in the early 90’s, bringing home numerous World and National Championships. The pair will take part in an open interview and autograph session that will provide a unique look at their historic accomplishments as only they can tell it.  Pegram was also a Ferracci rider in the mid to late 90’s and the last to record an AMA victory for the Ferracci team as well recording several podium finishes and a victory at Fontana in this year’s America Superbike series.

Ducati Revs New Jersey will also play host to demo rides from the Ducati Experience Truck, top industry vendors and service providers to cater to riders’ needs, a bike contest and giveaways.  To help remember the day,   renowned motorsports photographer John Owens will be on hand as well as the schools’ High-Definition video cameras for those who want to capture their riding improvements on film.

This year’s event is open to all motorcycle riders, regardless of brand, and suitable for riders of all experience levels. Space is limited so you must pre-register. To register for the event, participants simply need to contact a participating Ducati dealer or sign up directly at the Penguin School website, www.penguinracing.com. Founded in 1973 by Jerry Wood and Joe Ziegler, the Penguin Racing School based in Winchendon, MA, is the nation’s first and longest running motorcycle training school. The school was key in helping transform roadracing safety as the sport grew in the 1970’s. The first Penguin School manual “Learn to Fly” provided riders with a game plan for a complete understanding of roadracing rules and safety procedures as well as a solid path to improve their skills. The school grew under the leadership of Jerry Wood and their first advanced class instructor, factory rider, John Bettencourt. John was succeeded by the famous US Superbike privateer, Dale Quarterly. Currently, under the leadership of Eric Wood, son of founder Jerry Wood, the school has expanded from its base operation at New Hampshire Motor Speedway to include schools in New Jersey and Florida.
