June 23, 2010 - PRLog -- New York - BRELLI announced that a percentage of sales of the BRELLI collection of biodegradable umbrellas and rain accessories will be donated to The Nature Conservancy to assist in restoring the Gulf Coast following the oil spill. Ten percent of retail sales made on http://www.thebrellishop.com will be donated as well as a percentage of wholesale profits through September 1, 2010.

“I created BRELLI to be good for our planet and now, during one of the worst environmental disasters of our time, I want BRELLI to help by donating as much as possible to assist with efforts to clean up the oil spill,” said Pamela Zonsus, president and inventor. “These contributions will be used to help the animals effected by the oil in the Gulf and assist with the long-term work involved in restoring coastal habitats.”

BRELLI selected The Nature Conservancy charity to receive the donations based on its Charity Navigator rating as a 4-star charity and its direct contribution to the oil spill clean up efforts. Donations from BRELLI will be designated for the Fund for Gulf Coast Restoration.

BRELLI was established in 2005 by Pamela Zonsius and manufactures a collection of 100% biodegradable umbrellas and rain accessories. BRELLI umbrellas are constructed with a bamboo frame, organic cotton and a clear or tinted canopy. They have received several design awards and are patented. The collection also includes the sunBRELLI, which provides 99% UVA/UVB protection, and BRELLIwear, tailored from the same biodegradable plastic that is used for the umbrellas.
