June 23, 2010 - PRLog -- The UK's largest independent BBQ hints, tips and review website asked 1,532 women a series of mutli-answer questions into their partners' involvement in BBQ preparation.

iLoveMyBBQ.com found that more than 4 out of 5, 82%, of the women questioned said that their men insist on taking charge of the BBQ on all occasions. Of this, just 27% said their men would help out with cleaning up after the BBQ, setting the table and preparing side dishes.

Fewer than 1 in 10, 9%, of the women asked said their partners would insist on taking charge of the everyday cooking of meals. More than three quarters, 76%, of the women asked believed the reason behind men being so willing to take-on the barbeque, is because it is considered to be a 'masculine activity'. 56% said they believe their men enjoy 'the glory' of being in charge of the barbeque. 32% of the women said they did not think their man trusted them to use the BBQ equipment.

Speaking about the results Chief Griller at iLoveMyBBQ.com, Andy Barr said,

"It appears that men like to take control of the BBQ, because it is considered a very masculine activity. This is emphasised by the small percentage of men willing to help out with the tasks deemed 'feminine' such as laying the table and doing the dishes. Men clearly like the glory of preparing the 'meat' and taking all the credit for the meal!"

"As the UK's only dedicated and independent BBQ news, reviews, gadget and information website we can see that it's not uncommon for the men out there to be keen to fire up their grills to impress the ladies".

iLoveMyBBQ.com was launched in 2007 and is not connected with any BBQ retail store or company meaning it can give honest and true feedback about the latest grilling gadgets and outdoor cooking trends and ideas.
