Cherokee Valley Hosts Summer Camps for Junior Golfers!

June 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Cherokee Valley has an exciting opportunity for junior golfers to participate in summer golf camps during the month of July.  The Director of Golf at Cherokee Valley, Brian Gordner and Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach at North Greenville University, Jeff Pittillo will be the highly-qualified instructors for these challenging and educational camps and will help shape the style and character of future golf players and supporters.

Junior golfers ages 8 – 18 can participate in the Coach & Pro Camps running July 12-14 and July 19-21 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Golfers will be put into co-ed groups based upon age and will receive instruction on rules, etiquette, full swing and short game.  Other topics discussed during the camp will include fitness, diet, and practice drills.  Each player will receive a gift for attending, as well as lunch, snacks, and water each day.  The GolfShop will offer Gatorade for an additional fee.  Golfers will need to bring their own golf clubs, balls, and golf/tennis shoes.  Only the first 16 golfers will be eligible to attend, so make sure to sign-up now in order to secure your junior golfer’s place in this educational and fun camp!

The Golf Management Camp will be held on July 26 – 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the Cherokee Valley championship course.  This camp will be focused on game management and on course tournament situations for junior golfers ages 13 – 18.  Each camp package will include a player’s gift, lunch, snacks, and water throughout the day.  Golfers will need to bring their golf clubs, balls, and golf/tennis shoes.  The Golf Management Camp will be open to the first 12 players to sign-up.  This is a great opportunity for your junior golfer to learn more in-depth about the game of golf and the sport they love!
