June 22, 2010 - PRLog -- BURLINGAME, CA - Tangent Inc. (www.tangent.com), a leading provider of technology solutions for health, education, government and military markets, today announced WebHawk, (www.tangent.com/webhawk4) a next generation content filtering solution that allows you to effectively manage your organization's Internet traffic for one-third the price of competing products.

WebHawk's content filtering tools automatically block inappropriate websites based on customized rule sets. WebHawk also monitors and logs all web activity. In addition to automatic filter rules, administrators can define customized white and black lists for each desktop, IP range or user/group.

WebHawk's Protocol Control lets administrators control which services they allow on their network for both productivity and security. Your organization can restrict IM traffic or schedule limited access to social networking sites via a couple mouse clicks.

WebHawk costs less. There are no software license or user fees. You don't need to install any additional software anywhere on your network. One flat-rate fee for annual updates covers your entire organization.

WebHawk includes a spyware/malware blocker, an anti-phishing filter, a network level anti-virus, protocol control, and intrusion prevention.

The plug-and-play solution lets users monitor, report, send alerts, and block access to proxy and other web sites. It also blocks non-productive Internet applications, defines policy per user or group, and integrates easily with Active Directory for user authentication.

WebHawk comes standard with network pass-thru cards which ensure that WebHawk will never be a cause of network failure. If WebHawk ceases to operate for any reason all network traffic automatically passes thru the device.

Other features include an active directory connect, a policy manager, protocol control, monitoring and logging, Open VPN (WebHawk can be used as a full VPN client or server), and a firewall router.

Pricing starts at $2,995 for up to 150 users. The cost is $8990 for 1501 to 6,000 users.
