Collagen crosslinking holds promise for treating a number of conditions, including keratoconus, ectasia, infection, and corneal instability caused by radial keratotomy.
Although not yet approved in the United States, collagen crosslinking is currently being used in other countries to treat a range of conditions.
In Canada, collagen crosslinking has been available for several years, and Dr. Raymond Stein has been performing this procedure since January 2008—primarily for keratoconus, but also to treat ectasia after laser vision correction, radial keratotomy (RK)-induced corneal instability, and infection.
To date, Raymond Stein MD's colleagues have treated over 1,100 eyes with this procedure, and have been very pleased and encouraged with their results.
