Green Legal Matters Conference Rescheduled for October 13-15, 2010

June 21, 2010 - PRLog -- New Orleans, LA Green Legal Matters today announced the new dates for the first annual conference and symposium, which will be held in New Orleans on October 13-15, 2010.  The conference is the first of its kind, offering professionals from law firms, municipalities and industry the opportunity to participate in an environment where critical concepts of the intersections of green cities, law and regulation will be addressed. The conference theme is “Green Cities, Business and Beyond.”

“There is no other conference like this today, where professionals from many disciplines can gather and discuss the timely issues that the ‘Greening of America’ creates, and the opportunities, costs and pitfalls that accompany it,” say officials presenting the conference.  The primary purpose of the conference is to bring together the best and brightest minds who are interested in being involved with the opportunities presented by the green movement in our cities and businesses alike.

The Conference will include keynote speakers and panelists who are green movement thought leaders including Susan Dorn, General Counsel of the  U.S. Green Building Council; Paul Lippe, CEO of Legal OnRamp and Steve Harmon, Sr. Director Legal Services for Cisco.  Other notables include former Secretary of the Louisiana Mineral Board Marjorie A. McKeithen, former Kraft Foods Chief Counsel Theodore L. Banks while companies such as Weyerhaeuser, Method Products and DuPont will also be represented.

Attendees will learn about mitigating environmental risk, compliance with EPA, DOJ, OSHA and regulatory bodies, guidelines for SMART cities, green building architecture, and how to structure a green legal practice.  Conference topics will range from Working Smarter with Green, to Green Products and Remediation to LEEDigation.

The conference will also include CLE credits, an opportunity to rub elbows with colleagues and peers, and a LEED® pre-certification training course.
