Following the successful completion of the Korea IT Showcase Canada 2009, Kotra Toronto presents Korea IT Roadshow Canada 2010, with record participation of Korean IT vendors. This event has been organized to establish partnerships and to develop and promote the next generation of consumer electronics and IT products. This event will act as an instrument in creating the opportunity for Korean products to display their novelty and proven competitiveness.
In conjunction with this year’s G20 Summit hosted in Canada and Korea, the Korea IT Roadshow Canada 2010 has been strategically created to further strengthen ties between the two countries and additionally draw attention to how the relationship of these two counties could be mutually beneficial in strengthening their positions in the global marketplace. Notably the trade volume between these two countries is US$635 billion and Korea is ranked Canada’s 7th trading partner. Therefore it can be suggested that Canada and Korea already have a strong relationship and that trade between the two countries is attractive and advantageous. In particular attention is drawn to the IT industry as it is one of the largest burgeoning industries globally.
Korea is gaining recognition in the areas of innovation and advanced IT products. The already prominent players such as Samsung and LG have helped define and create awareness of the strength which comes from Korean products, thereby setting the standard for the new products developed in Korea. In addition, due to the recent downturn in the economy in order to remain competitive the Korean IT industry has increasingly focused on advancing technologically and in innovativeness, with their high skilled engineers. Furthermore, due to the number of fibre optics, the infrastructure in Korea allows new technology to be adapted at a quicker pace, in comparison to other countries. Korea can therefore be a great country of investment and trade for IT products.
Due to the increasing interest towards Korea’s IT products, this event has been successful in attracting key buyers in the IT industry, such as Samtack, Ingram Micro, Supercom and CDW Canada, including their resellers, such as Future Shop, Best Buy and Walmart. It is also notable that participating at this event are 200 key buyers, of which 10 will be arriving from the United States.
