Vickie & Nickie!
New York, N.Y./June 21, 2010 - NYC’s well known wacky musical comedy sister duo of Vickie & Nickie are returning to the legendary cabaret venue, Don’t Tell Mama in NYC this July 15th and July 21st with their brand new show Inside Vickie & Nickie!, an up close and personal show about Vickie & Nickie’s childhoods, families, show biz careers and their hopes and dreams! The multi-instrumental, singing suburban housewife sister duo from Minnesota are played by real life sisters, Lori and Lisa Brigantino, who intertwine pop and original songs with dialogue, improv and audience participation all while accompanying themselves on many different instruments including acoustic guitars, keyboard, accordion, saxophone, violin, ukuleles, percussion and more. “Vickie and Nickie, [are] two busy Midwestern moms who take to the stage to delight and entertain with humorous banter (abundant), multi-instrumental musical talents (considerable)
Native New Yorkers, Lori and Lisa Brigantino have been performing together musically since they were children, but created the characters of Vickie & Nickie only 6 years ago. They were last seen in December 2009 performing their new holiday show ‘Tis The Season With Vickie & Nickie! at Don’t Tell Mama to a sold out house on closing night. The Brigantino sisters have written and performed 7 full shows including: Vickie & Nickie’s Sizzlin’ Summer Spectacular!
Lori (Vickie) holds a Major in Theatre and a Minor in Music from SUNY Fredonia and is a graduate of The William Esper Studio 2 year Meisner Actor Training Program. She has also studied acting with Suzanne Shepherd. Her credits include “The Last Nickel” at The NYC International Fringe Festival, “Trials & Fibs” Off Broadway at The Soho Playhouse and several Off-Off Broadway plays and independent films. Lori is a member of Actor’s Equity Association, BMI and MAC. Lisa (Nickie) is a classically trained composer and professional musician with a Master of Music in composition & theory from SUNY Fredonia. She writes for dance, theater, film and TV and most recently wrote a National TV spot for Plato’s Closet and the score for the short film “Game Night”. Lisa released her second solo CD “Wonder Wheel” on June 7, 2010. Lisa was a founding member of the all girl rock band, Lez Zeppelin, and toured internationally with the band, playing bass, keyboards and mandolin. They released their self-titled debut CD in 2007, recorded and produced by legendary engineer/producer, Eddie Kramer. She is a member of BMI, NARAS, The Songwriters Guild of America and serves on the advisory board of Women In Music, Inc.
