Berkshire-based language services provider Prestige Network Ltd has appointed Peter Townsley as its Assistant Operations Manager.
Reading-born Peter - who went to school in Newbury and studied for a BTEC National Diploma in Computer Studies at Newbury College - joined Prestige Network as a temporary language administrator earlier this year after answering an advert in the Newbury Weekly News.
He joined Prestige Network after six years as office manager for a company which specialised in the supply of industrial parts and equipment. Peter previous worked in IT.
Meryem Munro, Prestige Network’s Operations Manager, said: “When Peter joined us, he was a real find. We had recognised his potential within days of him arriving and quickly confirmed his appointment as permanent. Peter is a very personable member of staff – ideal for being the first-line contact for customers and linguists.”
He said: “I am enjoying being part of a successful company. I already knew before I joined that Prestige Network was going places – last year its turnover soared 65% to a phenomenal £3 million – and it’s a good feeling to be contributing to the business in a positive way.
“I joined Prestige Network in order to further my career and I wanted to do something a bit different. I’m very excited about my new role.”
Peter enjoys playing golf (off a handicap of seven) in his spare time.
