Grafton Music Festival to be held July 2-4

The second annual event featuring a weekend of music for all ages in beautiful Grafton, Vermont.

(Grafton, Vt.) – After a successful inaugural event last year, the upcoming July 4th weekend will once again feature the Grafton Music Festival. The multi-day musical event will be held in Grafton, Vermont from Friday, July 2 through Sunday, July 4. Most of the events held are free for all ages and are a compliment to the festivities taking place throughout southern Vermont. The main event to the weekend of music is the 20th annual Vermont Symphony Orchestra (VSO) concert & fireworks at Grafton Ponds Outdoor Center.

Friday, July 2
6:30 p.m.   The weekend kicks off with a FREE outdoor concert featuring Simba. A favorite band of southern Vermont, Simba is an eight-piece world beat dance band that is a great show for all ages. The concert will be in The Old Tavern at Grafton inn parking lot.  Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Saturday, July 3
11 a.m. – 4 p.m.    Grafton Village will come alive with celebration featuring a dozen local artisans on display, a children’s carnival run by the Grafton School PTA and local food vendors. The Grafton School’s annual duck race will also take place that afternoon at 1 pm.  The day also includes the Grand Opening celebration of Grafton Village Cheese’s new Specialty Cheese and Wine Shoppe.

2 p.m.    A FREE outdoor concert featuring Red Molly, a three-piece female folk rock trio will take place in The Old Tavern at Grafton inn parking lot. Red Molly consistently brings concert-goers to their feet with stunning three-part harmonies, crisp musicianship and a warm, engaging stage presence. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

7:30 p.m.   The 20th annual Vermont Symphony Orchestra will perform under the stars at Grafton Ponds Outdoor Center followed by a spectacular fireworks display. The event benefits the Brattleboro Museum & Arts Center. Gates open at 4 p.m. this year. Tickets can be purchased at BrattleboroTix.com or by calling 802-257-0124.

Sunday, July 4
10 a.m.   A special church music service featuring the Stockwell Brothers, Vermont’s longest running folk/ bluegrass group, will take place at the Grafton Church in Grafton Village. All are welcome.
