Bridal Upd Winners from Hair Benders School of Hair
Longwood, FL – Three cosmetology students at Hair Benders Academy, School of Hair, 851 E. State Road, 434, Suite 164 in Longwood, Florida entered the national Premiere Orland Hair Show and all three participants placed in the top four spots for the Bridal Updo Competition.
Victoria “Ashley” King won first place, Kateri Matichak captured third place and Lizza Gordon took fourth place in the student competition against 40 other contestants throughout the U.S.
All of the Hair Benders cosmetology students plan on entering their mannequins in the Matrix Mannequin Mania Photo Submission contest for a chance to win $25,000.
“This is a great reflection on the quality of our instructors,”
Ekstrom said the students were practicing their skills until 1 a.m. the night before the competition, then back at the contest at 6 a.m. to practice one more time before the competition began.
“Orlando is the number two destination spot in the world for weddings so it is essential our students receive the very best training they can,” said Ekstrom, whose accomplishments include winning the NCA America’s Cup, as well as numerous state, national and international competitions. “We worked them very hard, but they did a great job and we couldn’t be more proud of them.”
