Seattle Area Fortune Teller Nominated to be the First MTV Twitter Jockey

June 17, 2010 - PRLog -- Alexandra Chauran, a 29 year old fortune teller in Renton, Washington state has been nominated to be the first "Twitter Jockey" for MTV.  MTV's "TJ"  would be the face of MTV on social media, as well as appear on broadcasts and webcasts.  Selected candidates must be willing to travel to New York, as well as open themselves up to intense public scrutiny, along with possible mockery and notoriety, as they compete in challenges to entertain and prove their merit.  Supporters of Chauran can submit additional nominations for her Twitter username, @EarthShod, on-line at TJ.MTV.com until 9:59pm June 27th.

    American Express ZYNC is sponsoring the public Twitter Jockey nominations, and will select the TJ in a July 6th announcement, taking into account factors including how many people follow @EarthShod on Twitter, how many people nominate or support Chauran, Chauran's TweetLevel  scores, and her fit with MTV's brand and platform demographics.  Candidates will then compete in Twitter challenges, and Finalists will be voted upon by fans before the television show is taped between July 23rd and August 8th.  

    Chauran is a college-educated entrepreneur who has been active in her local chambers of commerce as well as social media marketing.  On May 5th of 2009 she became the first fortune teller to offer her services via Twitter, and is currently being certified by the World Bank Institute as a Social Innovator for "changing the world."  Chauran hopes that her recent nomination will bring further pop-culture attention to the paranormal and to her work as a fortune teller.
