We are delighted to announce the addition of the preeminent, Dr.Richard C. Schwartz, creator of the Internal Family Systems Model of therapy, to our clinical staff as of June 1, 2010. Dr. Schwartz is an esteemed clinician, teacher, author and pioneer whose approach to psychotherapy was recently acknowledged as one of the most significant contributions of this era in the Journal of Family Therapy. Dr. Schwartz has, in the past, lectured with, and taught and trained our Castlewood staff, but will now be relocating in order to assume an even more expanded role at Castlewood. This move represents a homecoming in many ways, in that Dr. Schwartz's origination of the Internal Family Systems Model occurred within the context of working with Eating Disorder clients and their families. Dr. Schwartz will continue his speaking and teaching, nationally and internationally. Recent trainings have taken place in Germany, France, Sweden, Canada and Israel, with an upcoming workshop in the U.K. When not on the road, look for Dr. Schwartz at Castlewood- Welcome Richard!

Castlewood II will grow incrementally into a 16 bed facility with a step-down house on the grounds. The addition of this second facility allows us to expand our treatment of eating disorder clients with co-morbid psychiatric issues. We are formulating enhanced sub-specialty programs in the treatment of Eating Disorder clients with Anxiety Disorders (specifically Social Anxiety Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and likewise a sub-specialty program focusing on the treatment of Eating Disorder clients with complex PTSD and/or Dissociative Disorder. Look for Castlewood II to open in June 2010.
