June 16, 2010 - PRLog -- If you were a small business, would you like to save thirty thousand dollars in a year? The answer should be Yes. A-1 Luxury Limousine of Central Florida was looking for a way to save money and they found it in GPS fleet tracking systems. Thirty thousand dollars is the estimated money saved in gas receipts over the next year. Gas isn't getting any cheaper, especially with BP spilling large amounts of crude in the Gulf of Mexico. The tracking systems installed on the limousines and party buses in the fleet help the management keep tabs on excessive driving and idling. Wayne the owner explains, "When you are a limousine service in Orlando you spend a lot of time at places like Disney and Universal Studios. He adds, "That transfers into a lot of idling in the parking lot waiting for guests to get done with there plans". The GPS tracking system lets them keep track of what the driver is doing in real time. Then they can contact the driver and tell him or her to shut the vehicle off, slow down, or to help with direction if they are lost. All these tricks add up to some pretty substantial fuel savings. With an average savings of an eighth to a quarter tank of gas per run, times all the stretch limousines, H2 Hummer Limos, and Party Buses. Multiply that by three to five runs per week and you have a money saving formula that is as good for the bottom line as it is for the environment.
