GigsWiz Opens Beta Service For Artists & Bands
After one month and more than 100 bands requesting access to the closed beta service, GigsWiz opens its beta service for all bands globally.
Helsinki, Finland based start-up GigsWiz helps bands and their agents to quantify the demand for gigs geographically. The service helps them make better decisions on where to play and to convince local promoters to book the bands.
The beta service, in invite-only closed beta test since mid-May until today, attracted more than 100 bands from more than 20 countries. The feedback from bands and their fans has been excited. "We are actively gathering feature requests from bands and their fans. It's all about enabling the bands to play where their fans are", says GigsWiz CMO Juuso Vermasheinä. Currently the service enables bands to place a software component on their home pages, Facebook pages and MySpace pages for collecting gig requests from fans. GigsWiz stores these requests and offers the bands a back-end for managing and utilizing the data.
Bands all over the world have already started using GigsWiz. Most of the beta bands so far have come from the US and the UK but many bands from countries like the Netherlands, Denmark, India and Japan have also signed up. At the moment GigsWiz only has an English version and there are no current plans on launching other language versions. "Our service is especially useful for artists who have a widely spread audience outside their home markets. Online listeners can be anywhere in the world and the bands don't necessarily have enough knowledge about their whereabouts to plan their concert and tour decisions accordingly"
GigsWiz is now in open beta and anyone can now join the service for free. During the summer GigsWiz will enable bands to share their statistics with their agent. Agents will be able to manage the the statistics of multiple bands and share the reports to local promoters when selling the bands.
