Industry experts set to gather at Fleming Gulf’s 2nd Annual Middle East District Cooling Summit

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jun 16, 2010 -
District Cooling in the Middle East has witnessed rapid changes over the last few years given the demand for alternate means of cooling as well as provisionary measures to create sustainable environments in relation to energy and water conservation. In turn, companies supplying services and products to the industry have prospered owing to this booming trend.

While it can improve efficiency in a number of ways, the amount of water required in the process of district cooling is high, and with decreasing freshwater availability especially in Qatar and other GCC regions, it will be even more challenging for District Cooling companies to acquire the systems required to deal with financing issues.

Under a dark cloud of economic downturn, district cooling companies are looking for huge investments drives that will be required to meet the big project demands. However, are prudent companies looking for smaller projects to drive sustainability or perhaps rejuvenate the market?

According to Mathew John, head of Fleming Gulf’s Utilities division, “The Middle East has amongst the highest per capita water and power consumptions in the world and owing to its rampant growth of urbanization, senior officials and industry leaders are in proactive support in mandating policies that will pave the way towards a more energy efficient and green region.” He adds, “This year is going to be even bigger and better than the last. With a renowned panel of some of the world’s district cooling leaders serving as cornerstones to the Summit, we are set to navigate through a series of discussions and case studies in line with a conservative approach that will open doors in implementing efficient and cost effective solutions.”

Fleming Gulf is proud to host the 2nd Annual Middle East DC Summit from 28-30 Nov 2010 in Doha, Qatar. With the participation of over 20 leading district cooling technology, solutions and service providers; this consortium of industry experts and leaders promises to drive the path to ‘innovating energy efficiency in a dynamic region’ by providing invaluable insights and delivering strategic direction drawn from stimulating discussions and workshops that will address the current and future needs of the Middle East District Cooling market.
