Ida Byrd-Hill to sign book, Escape to College, at Juneteenth Celebration

June 16, 2010 - PRLog -- Ida Byrd-Hill will be signing her Escape to College book at the Detroit African American Museum  Juneteenth Celebration, Saturday June 19, 2010  10 am to 5 pm. Ida Byrd-Hill author of Escape to College, has been attempting to educate the masses the Jetson Age has begun and all students 12 to 100 years of age should be preparing for a fast and furious Workforce Revolution. The entry to high paying high demand jobs is intense technological skills and college. Ironically, both entry points, require the same critical thinking, entrepreneurial and problem solving skills. The Escape to College book assists readers (students and adults) in the selection or reselection of a fast growing career according to their hobbies, passion and personality type.

Here is an  excerpt from the book, Escape to College, “Remember the cartoon, the Jetsons, the Hanna-Barbera cartoon created in the fifties and sixties, to depict the future. George, Jane, Judy, Elroy, Rosie the robot servant, Mr. Spacely drove Flying cars, used Video Phones and moving sidewalks to shuttle them from place to place.

While The Jetsons cartoon was fantasy in 1950, sixty years later, it has become a reality today. The Jetsons cartoon was prophetic as many of the inventions within the cartoon are coming into existence. Many of these inventions today seem to be a normal part of life although in the 1950 they were farfetched. They have evolved straight out of science fiction. It is amazing the change that has occurred within the past 59 years. As people crave more technology, innovative world changing products are being created at rapid pace ushering the Jetson Age into full force. Here are some of those inventions: “

Ida Byrd-Hill was highlighted in the Essence Magazine (May 2010 Issue) for her educational advocacy.   Her book is the foundation of her newest advocacy campaign, Jetson Workforce Revolution,  to inform students, parents and corporate leaders that  the Jetson Age  is here. Today June 15, 2010 many consumers scrambled to pre-order the iPhone 4, the first cell phone that has the availability for  video calling.
