PRLog - June 15, 2010 - LOS ANGELES -- It is with deep regret that The Relevant Stage must announce the cancellation of Warner On Wednesdays. Due to low attendance, higher costs, and stricter requirements for prepaying costs associated with the entire series, the films must be cancelled. The Relevant Stage had offered this series last year and intended to offer it this year as a way to bring in audiences to Warner Grand Theatre for the first time, by offering films at a low cost. Unfortunately, the series cannot sustain its own expenses.
Warner On Wednesdays is Cancelled for 2010
TRS spent more money and resources on marketing the films and its other events this year, than last, but are not seeing a return on the investments.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Relevant Stage’s current musical theatre live performance, has received critical acclaim from Press Telegram/Daily Breeze, StageScene LA, and audience members who have attended and enjoyed the show. However, despite this, TRS is witnessing a record low in ticket sales. When TRS is not able to generate income from its main stage productions, there is no way to finance the film series.
Please continue to patronize our live stage events at Warner Grand Theatre. By doing so, you can help us build a reserve of funds that could fuel another film series in the future.
