Free Chamber of Commerce Memberships to Companies Nationwide

June 15, 2010 - PRLog -- For a limited time the Mt Baldy Chamber of Commerce is offering free affiliate memberships to any business nationwide.

“These days many marketing budgets have been reduced or, in some cases, eliminated and companies are forced to find ways to promote themselves for free. With that in mind we wanted to remove the hurdle of any membership fees and make this offer totally risk free,” states Keith Hunt, President of the Mt Baldy Chamber of Commerce.

Mt Baldy is the closest ski resort to most of Los Angeles and the Inland Empire and all of San Diego and Orange Counties. The Chamber encourages visitors to take advantage of everything the mountain has to offer.
The Chamber also promotes members on a national basis.

“Businesses do not have to be located in Southern California to take advantage of our offer. Companies from any state may join and benefit from membership in our Chamber. Other Chambers tend to attract members from within their own city or neighboring communities. Our close ties with the ski and tourism industries attract members in all business categories coast to coast, for instance we have a Northern Michigan golf course as a member.”

“Many members join because we are so close Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties and the Inland Empire.”

The Chamber is currently running a nationwide promotion for Mistwood Golf Course in Northern Michigan offering free memberships. Mistwood is offering the memberships as part of their campaign to increase tourism in the Traverse City area and wanted to the traveling golfer in Southern California.

“I know that some will consider the offer and wonder “where’s the catch?” but there isn’t one. We don’t ask for your credit card!  “If there isn’t a catch why are you doing this?” is another thought crossing minds. The answer is because we can. If you have been looking for free marketing opportunities, why question it when it appears?”

“Our goal is to help members promote their business; we leave all the government relations stuff to politicians and City Councils.”

”Over the years I have been involved with several Chambers. When it comes to really marketing the membership they miss the boat. Their idea of marketing is to tell members to attend mixers and other functions, after a while you realize that it’s the same people are attending all the activities. Unless the membership increases your potential universe to promote you business doesn’t change.”

“Not only is our membership growing, but we have a national footprint when it comes to promotion. For instance the Michigan Golf Course.”

“If free isn’t good enough we will give every business that joins before July 15th 10 free scenic ride lift tickets, worth $20.00 each, to the Mt Baldy Ski Area. These can be used on weekends and holidays during the summer. If you are outside Southern California send them to friends, relatives or customers that can use them.”

“The free tickets are a value add for membership and also an example of how we help promote members,” concludes Hunt.
