Clearwater, Fl- June 16, 2010-Hair Du Soleil a Clearwater Upscale Salon and Organic Salon Systems, the leading provider of non-diverted professional natural salon products, worked together in a professional development seminar held last weekend where 20 salons from around the country attending to sharpen their skills on (1) hair color practice and theory; (2) the use of more natural, gentler, healthier, and organic products; and (3) client health concerns when using professional salon products.
Rather than using hair models for the hands-on demonstrations Alpha House -- an exceptional non-profit organization that provides shelter and counseling to pregnant women, victims of domestic violence, and women going through a pregnancy of crisis – identified women facing a unique set of circumstances where experiences aimed at providing a boost in confidence may assist their successful re-entry into the job market. Through this unique professional development and charitable event, these women were provided with a comprehensive beauty consultation, a professional hair and makeup makeover, and insight into their resumes as well as interviewing tips and coaching. Additionally, each woman will be provided with a care package designed to provide them with the products and tools necessary to maintain their new professional look.
Matthew Pinto, Technical Director and Head of Education for Organic Salon Systems said “A primary theme of our Salon Professional Development Program is that our more natural and organic products perform better than their less natural and organic alternatives. Chemicals found in many hair colors, especially ammonia, can be corrosive to the hair cuticle and leave the client’s hair shaft damaged even before the cutting and styling occurs. We are fortunate to be able to work with high quality salons like Hair Du Soleil that recognize the value of preserving the canvas on which to build their masterpieces. As importantly, we are grateful to the professionals at Hair Du Soleil for teaming up with us to promote the self-confidence of the strong-but-transitioning women in this difficult economy”.
Jolene Wagner of Hair Du Soleil said “ I am 38 years old starting a new career, from restaurant owner to a stylist. I decided to reinvent myself when I lost my mother to cancer. My mother always encouraged me to use my creative side. After her passing I decided that the time had come to listen to her words and do something creative. My mother was looking down on me when Maria Brown at Hair Du Soleil hired me. Hair Du Soleil uses the Organic Color Systems color line and because of that I am a healthier person and I am also keeping my clients healthier. I feel like I am giving back every day. ”.
